Stefan was born in Switzerland and although he was compelled to create art from a young age, he originally trained and worked as a chef. In 1992, Stefan hung up his toque and moved to the USA to follow his dream to work as a professional artist. Since then, Stefan has successfully grown his art business, working out of his studio near Denver, Colorado.
Travel, nature and music are his primary sources of inspiration. His recent work focuses on abstract forms, landscapes and architectural elements. Stefan’s style of applying layers of acrylic paint, the use of vibrant colors and engaging compositions, result in art that visually sings.
Stefan’s work can be found in many national and international, private and corporate collections, including University of Colorado Hospital (Denver, CO), Modern IR (Denver, CO), Prime Source Staffing (Denver, CO), Chamber Music Society of St. Louis and Casino Kursaal Bern in Switzerland. I have created commissions for internationally known conductor Leonard Slatkin (Detroit Symphony & Orchestre National de Lyon), Centene Corporation CEO Michael F. Neidorff (St. Louis, MO) and Haselden Construction (Denver, CO), just to name a few.
Over the years, Stefan’s work has been represented by several national and international art galleries, including the Kunstsammlung Unterseen (Switzerland) and the L2 Gallery (FL). Currently, his art is represented by the Palette Contemporary Arts and Crafts gallery in Albuquerque, NM. Preferring the personal interaction between the collectors and the artist, Stefan also shows and sells his artwork at national juried fine art festivals in Sausalito (CA), Aspen (CO), Denver (CO), Dallas (TX) and Chicago (IL), just to name a few.
